Project Case Study
Ten original windows saved, historic replicas for the rest, and a Preservation Texas Honor Award for the building's restoration.
The Project
At the Martindale Motor Company Building in Martindale, Texas, ten of the original windows could be salvaged. We restored those ten in full.
For every other opening, we fabricated historic replicas matched to the originals. The building's restoration went on to earn a Preservation Texas Honor Award.

The Work
Every job like this starts with assessment: we go window by window and note what can be saved, what needs repair, and what has to be replaced. We call a window unsalvageable slowly, because original material is the thing you can't get back.
The ten salvageable originals got our full restoration. For the rest, we fabricated historic replicas matched to the originals, so the building presents one consistent face.
That's the craft in replica work: it should take a trained eye to find them.
